Even though it's been a couple of years since Genio's passed away, I still feel the urge to head in that direction. Then, in an instant, I realize that I'm living in the past.
The best news that I've learned lately is that Jose, the former head chef at Genio's, bought Frank's Coffee Shop down the street on Olive Ave. near Victory Blvd. He has revived many of the popular Italian dishes and even a darned good garlic bread.
Check it out.Don Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01670783103115697335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22487398.post-26657158191776048942009-12-12T23:25:54.494-08:002009-12-12T23:25:54.494-08:00Hello Don,

I grew up only 3 houses down from Genio's and I will always remember the aroma of their food and the full parking lot on weekends. I will always miss Genio's and I'm glad I stumbled across your blog, because seeing the images of the Genio's sign took me back to a great moment in my life! By the way, do you have any more pictures of the Genio's sign? I've lived in Burbank for 5 years and I never have had a meal at Genio's. It always looked empty or closed as I drove by. Sadly, it looks like I won't get to eat there anytime soon. Curiously, I did see a milk delivery truck by the front door this morning at about 6:30am as I was driving to work. Anyway, keep up the superb writing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22487398.post-1159217408277424772006-09-25T13:50:00.000-07:002006-09-25T13:50:00.000-07:00Oh, my goodness, Don Ray!
